All About Little Wiglets
Located in the leafy city suburb of Chester Green, I have been a qualified teacher since 2000 and have taught all age groups from Reception to GCSE. I am also experienced in supporting children with special educational needs and my skills cover a wide range of ages, needs and requirements. I have recently gained Early Years Professional Status and am a mentor for prospective Early Years Professional candidates at the University of Derby
I am registered with OFSTED (August 2007) and was last inspected in October 2011 where I was judged to be an outstanding childcare provider (my report can be found here). I am First Aid Trained and proficient in the use of Makaton/Baby Sign Language. I am also accredited by the Derby City Childminding Network.
A 'normal' day with Little Wiglets might include...
- Messy play activities, including paint, jelly and spaghetti!!
- A wide range of toys suited to individual child's developmental needs.
- Trips out to local parks and amenities, baby and toddler groups.
- Home-made food sourced from organic and local produce wherever possible (Sample Menu).
- Dressing up, dancing and pretend play!
- Quiet time, jigsaws and stories.
